BYC One-day Open Dinghy Regatta

In November 2024, Bluff Yacht Club hosted the inaugural BYC One-day regatta.

This is now an annual November event, with the second day of this regatta series hosted by Marakura Yacht Club in Te Anau, in late January each year.

Annually Bluff Yacht Club hosts the renowned Oyster Regatta, held near the end of the summer sailing season (March/April) each year.  

This event is open to all yachts and takes place across a weekend for two days of fun sailing and socialising.  It has become a highlight of our calendar, attracting competitors from all over the country.

The Oyster Regatta is more than just a race; it's a celebration of sailing prowess, camaraderie, and of course, Bluff's legendary hospitality! 

The course is located in the Bluff Harbour where you never quite know the conditions - testing skills and resilience of the most seasoned sailors.

Ready to join the excitement?  The Bluff Yacht Club welcomes sailors of all levels to participate in the Oyster Regatta.
